Worship with Us This Sunday!

We invite you to join us for worship this Sunday, February 26, as Pastor Orvin continues our Philippians series, Choose Joy, with a message titled "The Joy of Knowing Jesus (Part 1)" (Philippians 3:1-11). Music will be led by Brianna Conyers, along with some of our youth and the FBC worship band.

We hope to see you and your family for Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. and worship at 10:45 a.m. You can preview the service plan HERE. Sunday's bulletin is available for download HERE.
The M-power Youth will be attending WinterJam on Thursday, March 2 as their March "Power-Up" Night!

Meet at the church at 5:00 p.m. Adults are welcome to join as well. If you have any questions, contact Jesse or Maude Dengel or Brianna Conyers.
FBC Strafford is planning to field a co-ed softball team this spring! If you are interested in participating, contact Jesse Dengel or Pastor Orvin.

SBC Missionary Highlight & Prayer Prompt

Women in the slum brothels of Kampala, Uganda learned that God had not forgotten them after missionary Allie White pointed down an alley and asked, “What is this place?”

That particular alley housed the most brothels in the area and local believers avoided it at all costs. Soon, however, White and other Ugandan Christians prayed for God to open doors for sharing the Gospel in this area. They started a Bible study and six attended the first day. The second week, 60 women came, many giving their lives to Christ.

This outreach even changed the hearts of local believers who chose to step outside of their comfort zones and into hard-to-reach places in order to minister to these women.

THE COOPERATIVE PROGRAM takes the Gospel to the nations and the neighborhoods. Your financial support through the Cooperative Program gives missionaries the resources they need to minister to the “least of these” and inspire local believers to do the same.

PRAY for the continued service of Christians in the slums of Uganda and ask God to deliver more women out of prostitution and into an eternal relationship with Him.

In every edition of the FirstUpdate, we are highlighting the efforts of the International Mission Board (IMB), the North American Mission Board (NAMB), the six Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) seminaries, and the various Baptist state conventions. Each month, our church and the other 47,000+ churches in the SBC contribute a portion of our undesignated offerings to these important Cooperative Program (CP) ministries. Giving Options

Church family, we appreciate your ongoing commitment in giving your tithes and offerings. In addition to FBC's ministries and operations, we want to be a blessing to our community and our partner ministries around the world and it takes resources to do that. Your faithful giving makes it possible!

In addition to dropping cash or checks in the offering plate or offering box on Sunday morning, there are multiple ways to give your tithes and offerings:
  • Online through Tithe.ly or the Tithe.ly app
  • Mail a check to First Baptist Church, PO Box 367, Strafford, MO 65757
  • Several of our members have begun using online bill pay through their bank to send in their offering. This is a free service that some banks provide. All you have to do is add the church’s name and address as a vendor, just like you would the electric company or any other business.
  • You can also drop your offering by the church office, but please call ahead to make sure that someone will be in the office.
Thank you again, church family, for your generous giving! If you need help setting up online giving or have any questions, contact Josh Erisman.
