Semester 1, Week 1

Welcome back to a brand new year!

We were so excited to meet so many new members at all our orientation week events last week. We have big plans for this year - more workshops, more projects, larger scale social and networking events! We can't wait to see each and one of you at our events, whether you are a MUEEC veteran or a brand new member 🤩.
MUEEC Launch Night
Welcome back to campus! MUEEC is kicking off the year with our first event:
🚀𝙈𝙐𝙀𝙀𝘾 𝙇𝙖𝙪𝙣𝙘𝙝 𝙉𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 🚀

Come and see a preview of what events, workshops and projects we've got in store for this semester. This is an awesome chance to meet fellow Electrical and Mechatronics engineering students that you will likely see in your subjects (and potentially form groups with for those pesky group assignments 👀).
And of course come and say hello 👋 to the MUEEC committee.

We've got dinner covered (did someone say sushi?! 🍣) as well as some games with prizes🏆!

𝗦𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻 (𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗜 𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝘂𝗽, 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄, 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝟰... 𝗼𝗸𝗮𝘆 𝗜'𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽😬) 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗳𝘂𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱!

Industry Night with MESS and ARES
Industry networking is an essential part of gaining opportunities for insight and connections with graduates and recruiters from the industry.

MUEEC, MESS, and ARES are excited to welcome you to our annual Industry Night!

Throughout the night you will have the chance to connect with representatives from your favourite companies around Melbourne in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, and Aerospace Engineering. We have a wide variety of companies coming along for you to ask your burning questions about what it's like working in the industry and to find out where your passions may be valued.

And with this many hungry engineers in one place, you can expect this event to be fully catered.

When: Thursday, 16th of March, 6:30pm-9:00pm
Where: Wilson Hall, The University of Melbourne, Parkville Campus
Tickets: www.eventbrite.com.au/e/industry-night-tickets-556292685397

Tickets are $10* for Members of either club, and $15* for Non-Members and can be purchased through Eventbrite.

MUEEC Mentorship

We are very excited to introduce you to our first ever Electrical Engineering Peer Mentoring Program! This is a great chance to connect with other Electrical Engineering students and get some guidance, or provide some support to other students that might be a bit lost.

The mentoring sessions will run for one hour each week throughout the semester with times set by the mentor-mentee pair depending on your schedule, and topics of discussion will be outlined and provided by MUEEC as a guide for each session. Session topics may range from subject advice to internship opportunities, depending on the mentor-mentee pair’s preference. Each mentor-mentee pair will be matched depending on your academic/career interest, and to the best of your personal preference.

MUEEC will also be hosting a Mentor & Mentee Meet & Greet so you get to know your buddy, and a Thank You Night at the end of the semester to thank everyone’s participation!

Sign up now to get a chance to be mentored, or to mentor someone! Follow the links below or scan the QR code to sign up 😊 (You can sign up as both a mentor and a mentee). Sign-up cut-off time is March 12th 11:59PM!
