Announcements

Thank you to The MB6 Foundation for presenting Fountain Inn Parks and Recreation with their Spring Grant!
In late February, Shaun Blake with the MB6 Fountain presented Fountain Inn Parks and Recreation with their spring grant. This grant provides financial support for local youth to participate in team sports. They also presented gift cards to assist with equipment costs. A huge thanks to the MB6 Foundation for their support of our community!

Swanky Steer grows into a new location!
After a year open on Main Street, Swanky Steer has outgrown its first storefront and moved into a larger storefront. From our Main Street team, "Swanky Steer is the epitome of what success looks like. Their journey is a story we can all stand behind and support, and we are beyond thrilled for their continued growth on Main Street Fountain Inn. There is nothing you can't do with hard work, friendship, and faith in the future."

Make sure to stop in and check out all of the great things going on in Fountain Inn.

March 18th is Natural Gas Utility Workers Day!
The official Natural Gas Utility Workers’ Day is March 18th! The date commemorates the New London, Texas school explosion in 1937 that led to the widespread odorization of natural gas and an increased emphasis on safety. Safety is a vital aspect to natural gas distribution and the employees of distribution companies endeavor to make natural gas delivery as safe as possible.

This annual nationwide event is intended to build public awareness about the hard work done by the employees of natural gas utilities. On this day, we will also educate residents on the environmental, safety and cost benefits of using clean, reliable and affordable natural gas. This is the eighth year in which Natural Gas Utility Workers’ Day has been officially celebrated across the country.

A special thank you to all Fountain Inn Natural Gas Utility workers who keep us safe while ensuring access to natural gas!

Merchants, let's talk about promoting your business!
Let's talk about Main Street! The meeting will be held at the Fountain Inn Activities Center Community Room, co-Hosted by the Fountain Inn Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Marnie Schwartz-Hanley!

Creating good buzz about your business goes beyond just social media, and if your audience doesn't use those platforms, how do you reach them? Brenda Stewart from Laurens County Buzz will show us how to utilize Laurens County Buzz, which gets around 5,000 readers.

The Main Street Team will be giving information on WeShopSC.com, a service for local merchants to launch an online presence and sell through a statewide e-commerce marketplace.

Let's work together to get the word out about our fantastic businesses in Fountain Inn!

Fountain Inn is beginning the process of Redistricting.
What is redistricting? Redistricting is the process of redrawing "Ward" or "District" lines to better accommodate the changes in population. City Council is made up of council members who live in and represent each Ward.

The City of Fountain Inn is going through the process of redistricting in 2023. There will be a public hearing on the topic at the March City Council meeting. Come to learn more about this process and how it affects you.
