Dear Faith Family,
This year for Christmas both of my boys received Echo Dots.  If you’re not familiar with this device, it is a modern intercom system with a brain named Alexa.  I often hear Benjamin asking Alexa the time or weather when he wakes up in the morning.  Occasionally I’ll hear the boys “talking” over this system when they are supposed to be asleep.  Lately Benjamin has been asking Alexa to play games like Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader (ironic because he is a fifth grader), Let’s Make a Deal, and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire
I remember watching Who Wants to Be a Millionaire when it was popular.  Do you remember the three lifelines, ask the audience, fifty/fifty, and phone a friend?  Those lifelines remind me a lot about how we often approach prayer.  Sometimes it seems like I can take my worries and cares to everyone around me, asking my friends and family and sometimes complete strangers what they think I should do.  At other times it’s like flipping a coin and hoping for the best.  What I want to be my first response is to phone a friend, but not just any friend.  I want to call on the friend who is always available, never too busy or tired, and knows all of the answers.  In his book, Prayer, Timothy Keller writes, “Prayer is simply the key to everything we need to do and be in life.  We must learn to pray.  We have to.”

On Sunday night at 5:00 we’ll be joining together in a time of prayer and worship.  This will be a time for individuals and families to join together as a body proclaiming who God is and petitioning for Him to do what only He can do in our lives and the world around us.  We’re including prayer stations around the room so that kids are able to concretely engage in this time as well.  We would love for you to join us.

Blessings,

Michelle Schlappe

Join us on Sunday, March 5, at 5 PM, for a night of worship and prayer?  This is going to be a family-friendly gathering.   We will be intentional about the format of the night and provide space for all ages to participate with us.

We are excited about the opportunity to take a few days during spring break to serve our church and community!  Our plan is to have some daily projects in the morning and the evenings.  We will have projects inside and projects outside.  Some of these projects will be off campus with local organizations and some will be at the church.  We hope you will plan to join us as we serve together.

Please use the links below to let us know which day(s) you are available to serve and what project(s) you'd be interested in.  If you are available on both days, then please fill out both forms. This will allow us to plan appropriately for our projects.
