In Our CommUUnity
Please keep Tad Crawford and Anita Christian in your thoughts as they deal with health issues that have landed them in the hospital for a few days. Cards to their home addresses, or text messages, are best for now; visits can drain energies that are best devoted to healing.
Betty Burton reports "I am home from the hospital (a fractured hip courtesy of Spot) now and trying to settle in. I am using a walker and getting around okay. I am still in a lot of pain. I appreciate the cards from everyone and the meals that have been delivered." If you could prepare a meal for Betty and her husband, John, follow the link below to sign up on Betty's Meal Train. https://mealtrain.com/z3on0e
We are looking for volunteers to help assist Emily LaPierre with Religious Education (RE) during services for the following Sundays (March 5, 12, 19 and 26). Volunteers will assist Emily with activities with the children. If you can help please email uu.society.mv@gmail.com with the date(s) you are available. Thanks for your consideration!
Fill out the Climate Questionnaire Today!
Help us set direction for UUSMV's Climate Justice work this year by taking this quick online survey about climate change before March 10. Climate Justice Group Questionnaire We will share the survey results March 29 at 5:30 pm at Stevens Chapel. Please contact Peter Meleney, 508-693-6980, or pmeleney@comcast.net, with questions. Season 2 of Shed features six interviews taped during the summer of 2022. The season aired on Feb. 16, 2023. Follow this link to listen to season 2 of Shed.
In the wake of the George Floyd killing and protests around the world, Eric Adams began interviewing Martha’s Vineyarders, both year-round and seasonal about their experiences with race and racism. A local family therapist raised by a white mother and a black father, Mr. Adams draws on his own experiences and those of his interview subjects to encourage listeners to shed their old beliefs about race and make room for a new understanding of its impact and implications.

Mission
We are an intentionally welcoming congregation of diverse faiths and shared values, fostering spiritual growth, community action, racial equity and universal justice.
Our Vision 2025
We envision a flourishing and caring congregation that . . .
- Built a loving and supportive, multicultural community.
- Created thriving shared ministries led by our minister, lay leaders, and the congregation working collaboratively.
- Worked to accountably dismantle white supremacy, racism, and all intersecting oppressions in ourselves, our community, our institutions, and our democracy.
- Determined the feasibility of a new building/addition that will enhance our ability to serve our congregation and the island community.
……. As we seek to widen our spiritual horizons.
