Mission of the Month - March, April & May
First Care Women’s Clinic

First Care Women’s Clinic is an evangelical Christian non-profit organization that was established to reduce abortion by giving the support and information that people need to choose life.

We will be collecting items for the Baby Boutique. There is a basket in the school lobby for donations as well as the church narthex.

The Baby Boutique supports women who have chosen life by providing practical assistance. Clients who attend our Parenting and Prenatal Classes are able to participate in a class baby-shower where they receive new items to help with the first months of motherhood. Through a variety of ongoing classes, mothers earn “points” and are able to use them to shop the boutique. All items provided are free.

Current Needs
  • Maternity clothes – new or gently used
  • Teethers and rattles
  • Newborn pacifiers

The Food Pantry Story

The Faith Food Pantry started in 2019 with two people who wanted to make a difference in our community. They began buying and donating needed items to the Brumby food pantry and after the pandemic hit in 2020, making 25 bags a week to take to Brumby for distribution.

From there, we moved to a little bit of space in the office/closet beside the LWML room which was filled with old computers, equipment, the Soup Ministry freezer and supplies, and Just One Thing was started. With the cooperation of the LWML ladies, we were able to make that work.

In April, 2021, we applied for and received a “Seed Money” grant from the FL/GA District to help kick-start a real pantry.

In May 2021, the closet/office was cleaned out and shelving installed and we grew & grew & grew until we were bursting at the seams.

In September 2022, we moved into our new space in the little house next door to the church. We also added a new member to our team and are so happy and blessed to have her.

The Pantry not only supplies food bags to the Brumby distribution, but supports the Social Workers at Sedalia Park, Brumby, Eastvalley, and Powers Ferry Elementaries, East Cobb Middle, and Wheeler High with school supplies, toiletry items, emergency food bags for families, snacks and water for elementary and Wheeler High counselors, sweets and easy-to-prepare snacks for East Cobb Middle backpacks.

This would never be possible without the support of this congregation and our new partner PORCH and our community friends.

Bags distributed:
2020 - 146
2021 - 1018
2022
- 1914
2023 - 500

Please join us for this delightful time of celebration, reconnecting, and fellowship!  And, yes, it takes a lot of planning and help.  If you'll be in town, please join us!  We'll look forward to seeing you, whether or not you can help, we really want you to come celebrate with us!

Faith's Food Pantry

The pantry had its biggest food bag delivery ever on February 28th. We delivered 250 bags to Brumby on February 28th. Brumby served 298 families February 28th at their weekly food distribution. Our Brumby friends were able to make 50 bags of food so there were two bags left at the end of distribution. There was no Food Bank delivery. Our next delivery will be April 4th which is Spring Break. We will also be making toiletry bags to deliver that day with a goal of 200 bags each of food and toiletries.

Thank you to everyone who bought peanut butter. Everyone got a jar in their bag on the 28th but we still are in need for our April 4th collection.

The below are advertised grocery prices for Kroger, Publix, Aldi, and Walmart. The sales ads run from March 1st  through March 7th.

The pantry needs
peanut butter, jellycorn bread mix (Jiffy, etc.), Tuna Helper,  pasta and pasta sauce,  canned meats,  canned chili and pasta,  cereal, 2nd breakfast items like breakfast bars and pop-tarts, and pudding cups as our shelves need to be restocked to make more bags. Toiletry items are always needed - bath wash, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant. We are hoping to make 200 toiletry bags to go along with the 200 food bags the first week of April.
