Autumn is here!
It is a truth universally acknowledged that all things come to those who wait. Despite brazenly appropriating these words from Austen and Fane, the sentiment is indeed true. We are delighted to announce that after 18 months, the library’s 24/7 student study space has been completed. The final part of the process is to streamline the administrative logistics to make sign-up and access simple. Details will be rolled out over the next few weeks so please go to our website and social media pages for updates. This service is yet another example of how the library has responded to community needs and we are thrilled to have been able to make it a reality.
With the success of the micro-library at ALAC, we are in the process of developing two other sites for micro-libraries in the wider community, providing more options for patrons to borrow physical items. More information will be made available in the following months.
In support of the excellent national initiative the Australian Reading Hour on the 9 March, we will be hosting an outdoor reading lounge for all ages in the junior courtyard area. Come along and spend an hour reading and sharing the joy of books alongside others, while you sip your beverage of choice and relax in the outdoor space, in sync with others across the country. What a lovely thought…
