Globetrotters Informational Meeting April 4:

Are you interested in curating your own travel experience, working with other 4-H members and visiting places that interest you? Then the Pueblo County 4-H Globetrotters Club might be for you!

The 4-H Globetrotters Club is for members in 9th grade and up who are interested in working closely with other 4-H members to fundraise, engage in leadership activities, and travel with their peers. The next Globetrotter delegation will be traveling in the Spring/Summer of 2024 on an Excursion Trip. Globetrotter Excursion members are also eligible to participate in the next delegation of Citizen Washington Focus (CWF) if they haven’t already attended.

4-H Globetrotter Club Applications are DUE Friday, April 7, 2023 by 5:00 PM, either in-person at the Extension Office or emailed to JenApplications were emailed March 3, 2023, at approximately 12:30 PM.

If you are interested in this amazing opportunity, please submit your application today! 

There will be a short informational meeting held in the Extension Office on Tuesday, April 4 at 6:00 PM for those wanting more information. 

 
Statewide Horse Clinic and Tack Sale:

The Pueblo County 4-H Horse Project will be holding a weekend Horse Clinic on the Colorado State Fairgrounds April 1st and 2nd!

This event is open to any Colorado 4-H Members enrolled in the Horse Project. Clinics will be offered in several different areas, including:
  • Beginning Show Class 
  • Beginning Cow Work (Must be Level 1 or Higher) 
  • Breakaway Roping (Must be Level 1 or Higher)
  • Advanced Cattle Class (Must be Level 2 or Higher)
  • Ranch Trail
  • Gymkhana (Must be Level 1 or Higher)
Clinic Fees:
  • The clinic cost is $25 per rider, per day. Cattle classes cost an additional $25 per day. Fees will be due the day of the event
  • Stalling is available for $10 per stall, per day.
  • Overnight trailer camping on the evening of April 1 will be available, at $45 per spot. There will be NO camping availability on Friday, March 31.
  • Please note that due to construction on the Fairgrounds, electricity and water are NOT guaranteed.
  • The Pueblo County Horse Council will be holding an open Tack Sale during the event as well (see flyer for details)
Our Clinicians this year are Ben Grogan, Lorie Diodosio and several professional breakaway ropers. 

Enrollment will be through 4HOnline and registration closes Thursday, March 30. Absolutely NO late registrations will be accepted. Search for the Event “2023 Pueblo County 4-H Statewide Horse Clinic."

Great American Clean-Up Community Service Opportunity:

Are you in need of community service?

Pueblo County CSU Extension and the Fountain Creek Watershed District invite you to participate in this year's Great American Clean-Up Event!

The Keep America Beautiful "Great American Clean-Up" event is part of the nation's largest community improvement program. On April 15, 2023, volunteers will meet at the Pueblo Nature Center to pick up trash around the fishing dock and surrounding area. Volunteers will meet at 9:00 AM, and will need to wear closed toe shoes and sign a waiver. Consider bringing a pair of gloves as well to keep your hands clean!

Beekeeping Scholarship:

BUZZZZZZZZ! Calling all Beekeepers!

Are you enrolled in or interested in starting the 4-H Beekeeping Project?

The Pueblo County Beekeepers Association is offering a start-up scholarship for the materials needed to begin! Any members enrolled in the project, new or old, are encouraged to apply.

Pueblo County Extension Office Now Accepting Credit/Debit Card:

In addition to continuing to offer Eventbrite registration for most of our events, the CSU Extension Office in Pueblo County is now also accepting credit/debit cards for payments for class registrations, membership fees, and more.

A 3% fee will be added to each transaction, and you can avoid the fees by continuing to pay with cash or checks made payable to “Pueblo County Extension Program Fund.”

We will take debit/credit cards for most Extension Office events/activities and can send an invoice if you can’t make it into the office (Extension staff will not take payment information over the phone). Please note that the pay-by-invoice option will not be available for all Extension events, so be sure to contact the Extension Agent or Program Coordinator organizing the event.
