Today I want to talk about this journey we all are on. Some call it the journey of life, or the journey of leadership. We need to always remember that we are all at different places on our different journeys.
 
I use this often when I'm speaking to my clients about judgment. If we judge anyone who's at a different place on the journey, we open ourselves up to be judged as well.

So, wherever you are on the journey - it may be in a skill set for a particular job, somewhere you teach something, or it may be in a conversation or in a relationship - you may feel yourself being left behind. Maybe you feel inferior. Or you may feel superior. The idea here is that we have to always realize that we are all on separate journeys, and although our individual journeys may differ, there's so much opportunity for growth.
 
I've certainly seen that recently, with technology changing so quickly, with everything in disarray around us, with things up in the air, especially with how fast things are developing and how communication is changing. Often I’ve learned more from young people today than what they can learn from me. If I was in a judgmental place, I would not be open to that learning. I would not be open to take their leadership in different areas.
 
So, that's the message for today: Always remember, we're on a journey. Someone might be ahead of me in the journey today, tomorrow I may be ahead on another journey.

As long as we support each other, encourages each other and not judge each other, the journey together will be a journey of discovery, curiosity, fun, and joy.
