March 2023
President's Message
I hope everyone has had some time to recharge from the amazing Spring Conference last week!  It was an event packed with outstanding presentations, learning and of course, people. I am happy to announce that this year, we set the all-time record for attendance!  We had over 200 people register this year and 30 total sponsors. Thank you to everyone who was able to attend and I look forward to connecting with everyone again over the course of the year.

Beginning this month, our WI ASLA newsletter will be transitioning to a quarterly publication. WI ASLA has decided to consolidate our information into a newsletter that focuses on past successes, and future endeavors. While many things happen on a month-to-month basis, we still intend to send individual emails to our members in the event of CEU opportunities as well as when other events arise.

Thanks again for everyone who attended the Conference, and I look forward to seeing you all next year in Milwaukee!

Until next time,

Alexander Thill, ASLA
Wisconsin Chapter President
CHAPTER NEWS
Special Election

Beginning on March 20th, WI ASLA will be holding a special election for its members to vote on the future leadership of the Chapter. Many of you may not remember, but we did not fill the vacancy of President-elect. Fortunately, we have had a member step up and decide to fill the position. Paige Bernhardt has been a rockstar for the Chapter and will do great as its leader.

The special election will only remain open for the week of March 20th, closing at the end of the day on March 25th, Please remember to cast your vote.
NATIONAL NEWS
State Advocacy, More Important Than Ever
#LandscapeArchitecture #Licensing #NewHampshire #iAdvocate

In response to New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu's recent remarks regarding deregulation, Chapter President Jennifer Martel, points out, "Landscape architects don't plant rose bushes" in New Hampshire Union Leader op-ed.

If you have colleagues who live and work in New Hampshire, please share the ASLA iAdvocate campaign link

All Chapters can support New Hampshire by advocating for licensure to policymakers in their own states. The fact that the profession is licensed in all 50 states and the District of Columbia is a powerful argument in New Hampshire's favor.

Save the Date: Joint ASLA/CLARB Web Licensure Summit, March 22
All ASLA members are invited to join ASLA and CLARB on March 22 at 3:00 PM ET for the year’s first joint Web Licensure Summit.
