How do art, history, and biography intersect in the study of Colorado's past? 
Join us for free professional development and dive into how you can use primary sources in your classroom in a variety of ways and subjects. Collaborate with your peer teachers and create lesson plans focusing on the history of Colorado through art and biography.

Open to elementary teachers within the 7 SCFD counties. Space is limited. Preference will be given to Title 1 teachers.

A Legacy of Immigration and Courage: Primary Sources and Ireland 2024


Join us in a Primary Source Learning Inquiry and Place-Based Learning Course studying immigration and primary sources of the United States and the beautiful country of Ireland! 
The Teaching with Primary Sources team, Two Geeky Teachers, the National Park Service,Tenement Museum, and Epic Museum in Ireland are collaborating to build this learning experience with scholars from Ireland using inquiry strategies, a vast set of primary sources from the Library of Congress and other heritage sites, and placing in plenty of fun and exploration to make sure we see the special sites of the country that are not regularly seen by visitors.

The Teaching with Primary Sources (TPS) Western Region increases access to and promotes the widespread, sustained, and effective use of primary sources housed at the Library of Congress. The TPS Regional program provides grants up to $25,000 to educational organizations to incorporate TPS methods and materials into existing education and professional development programs.
