With more than 270,000 votes in the final, the Axolotl was crowned MBL GOAT (Greatest Organism of All Time) in the 2023 MBL March Madness Championship. Scientists in the MBL’s Echeverri Lab are identifying critical molecules, regulatory pathways and cellular processes underlying scar-free regeneration in axolotls.

Women's History Month: Ethel Browne Harvey
Ethel Browne Harvey first came to the MBL in 1907. During the many years she spent in Woods Hole, she was a student, an investigator, and a Member of the Corporation. From 1950 to 1956, she served as a Trustee.

Harvey was an accomplished embryologist known for her critical findings about cell division, embryonic cell cleavage, and parthenogenic cell cleavage in sea urchins. Learn more »
