This Sunday 3/19:
      9:30 Meditation
10:00 "The Mists of Time" with Rev. Kate

    11:00 Potluck & Fellowship

Dear Friends...

When you think of all the holidays that are just plain fun, St. Patrick's Day is certainly one that "springs" to mind.  Nothing special to do but relax and enjoy yourself. Come join us this Sunday, as we talk about the magical stories that humans have been using to explain the mysteries of the universe since time began... hopefully it will be a good lead-up to next's week talk about the  Big Bang... as we continue with this month's theme on bringing "Science and Religion" together - "hand-in-hand."

And don't forget - this Sunday is our monthly Potluck, so bring a dish to share if you can, and ALSO feel free to bring a joke along too.  Oh - andof course - it's a good day to bring along a friend!

See you Sunday!

Treat and You Shall Receive:
Practitioner Bené Raphael

Jesus said, "Judge not that ye be not judged, for with what judgement ye judge ye shall be judged."  Which means we cannot judge others without receiving back the things we claim for others.  In our practice of Religious Science we learn that when we give treatment for others we are actually treating for ourselves.  Holding this wisdom in our consciousness brings us to recognize manifestations from our treatments.  And teaches us to use the law of cause and effect.

What About Those Snakes?

Shared by Rev. Maurene...

St. Patrick’s Day is the feast day (March 17) of St. Patrick, patron saint of Ireland.  Born in Roman Britain in the late 4th century, he was kidnapped at the age of 16 and taken to Ireland as a slave. He escaped but returned about 432 ce to convert the Irish to Christianity. Many legends grew up around him—for example, that he drove the snakes out of Ireland and used the shamrock to explain the Trinity. Ireland came to celebrate his day with religious services and feasts. Patrick's efforts were eventually turned into an allegory in which he drove "snakes" out of Ireland, despite the fact that snakes were not known to inhabit the region.

It was emigrants, particularly to the United States, who transformed St. Patrick’s Day into a largely secular holiday of revelry and celebration of things Irish. Boston held its first St. Patrick’s Day parade in 1737, followed by New York City in 1762. Since 1962 Chicago has colored its river green to mark the holiday. (Although blue was the color traditionally associated with St. Patrick, green is now commonly connected with the day.)
Meditation Suggestion:
FOR THINE IS…THE POWER, AND THE GLORY, FOR EVER
(Matthew 6:13)

Jesus believed in God’s healing Love, and he was God’s channel through which healing came forth. Jesus believed in Divine Order, and he taught and lived according to God’s laws.

Jesus knew the power within himself and within every person. He demonstrated all that he taught; and he told us that we too could accomplish all that he accomplished---and even more. He knew the Power of God that guided and upheld him. He knew that he was loved. His teachings are as viable today as they were two thousand years ago. His complete faith is our example to follow.

Let us heed Jesus’ words, so clearly and beautifully given and so wonderfully proven by the many evidential healings. Jesus’ faith in God and the faith of the seeker brought forth these apparent miracles. Let us put faith in that God power within by following his words, to make our own life joyous and fulfilled.

Affirm: I have faith as Jesus did. I am happy and fulfilled.
