Join our special Grandmothers action along with a nation-wide day of action demanding accountability from banks that are using our money
Hello Grandmothers!
The National Day of Action on March 21, 2023 - 3.21.23 is coming up fast!
We'll be demonstrating rain or shine in Downtown San Francisco from 3:30-5:30pm at the Corporate Headquarters of Wells Fargo at 420 Montgomery (and simultaneously in front of 90 other banks all across the US and Canada). We'll have a rally with Rebecca Solnit and Akaya Winwood and community groups fighting the oil and gas industry. We'll also be helping paint a street mural by an indigenous artist, and having dance, music, singing and giant puppets.
We're also having a special 1000 Grandmother's march to Wells Fargo with Puppets and Chants and hopefully you! We're asking you to come to the Montgomery BART station (the West entrance where Montgomery, Post and Market come together) at 2:30pm on Tuesday and we will start the march down Montgomery St at 2:45 sharp. Note that this is a new, updated time. Please wear your Grandmothers t-shirt or hoodie if you have one. If you come out of the BART station at Sansome and Market, just walk up Market St until you get to Montgomery.
Together we will demand banks stop funding climate chaos. For years, we’ve been asking the banks - Bank of America, Chase, Citibank, Wells Fargo - to change. We don’t want our money to be used by these banks to rob the coming generations of a healthy future and a livable planet. We want banks to invest in clean energy, good jobs, and climate solutions, not new pipelines, oil drilling, coal plants, and fracking.
