COMMUNITY UPDATE: WEEK 38 |

Scenes from this morning's Women Leading Change breakfast panel. |
|
It's always amazing to be in a room full of people who not only recognise inequity in the world around them, but are also motivated to be the change they want to see — and to empower others to do the same.
That's why it was such a joy to have a full house at this morning's 'Women Leading Change' breakfast panel, where we heard from Kishaya Delaney, Julianne Schultz, Mariam Veizadeh and Catherine Fox in (a slightly belated) celebration of International Women's Day.
Thank you to all who joined us: from Mayor Tanya Taylor of Willoughby and Mayor Andrew Zbik of Lane Cove, to the men and women from across our electorate who came together to share their enthusiasm for positive change.
It was fantastic to also have so many young Australians join in the conversation. In all, we had about 50 students and teachers attend from Riverside Girls High School, Shore, Redlands, Marist Catholic College, Marist Sisters College, Monte Sant'Angelo and Bradfield College.
As Julianne Schultz quoted: "The ideas of one generation become the instincts of the next."
Working together, I know that our community of North Sydney can and will make a real difference in paving the way to a better, fairer future for all. |
