 Lenten Rose

Soak my soul in psalms

as I gather shades of

Lenten roses got their nickname from their growing season. It begins in winter and extends into spring, surrounding the season of Lent.

Food and fellowship

Back in February, men from TLC gathered over lunch for some fellowship and shared wisdom. The lunch was delicious, the fellowship was abundant, the wisdom was all in the eye of the beholder. It was so enjoyable, we thought we would do it again. Men of Trinity are welcome to join us on Wednesday, March 29, at 11:30 a.m. at the Town Square Diner. If you know you will be there, let Pastor Fred or Neil Holtzman know. If you are not sure, just show up. We're informal that way.
Fellowship

If you have any ideas for activities for the Fellowship Committee, please contact Cliff Rollins at whartonbaberuth42@yahoo.com

Zufall Health – Another look: Seniors

Intensive Senior Support (ISS) is a program for adults, 60 years and older, who live in Morris County. These vulnerable adults are at risk of losing their independent living status due to one or more factors, such as mental illness, dementia, substance abuse, homelessness, domestic violence, or extreme resistance to services.

In-home services, with a link or links to supportive programs and access to comprehensive primary medical, dental and behavioral health care, are provided. This care addresses chronic and acute medical needs. Participating seniors will also experience a continuity of care, which helps stabilize their medical and behavioral health conditions. Some seniors do not have a regular medical provider. In that case, they will be linked to Zufall Health for their primary care needs, and with that comes case management and appropriate referrals. To ensure continuation of care, transportation to appointments is available.

If you or someone you know might be in need of one or more of these services, contact Stephany Maldonado at 973-328-9100 Ext. 1541 or smaldonado@zufallhealth.org

Landscaping and farm field preparation have begun in the area. Local laborers need items to work safely in the sun and heat. Thank you to those who already have donated about 60 pairs of socks, hats, shirts, and wipes. Zufall suggests the following for donations:

dark colored socks
rain ponchos
hats with brims, and neck protection (if possible)
sunscreen
umbrellas
dark colored undershirts
cleansing wipes such as baby wipes

Need a shopping list? Pick up a copy of the list above from the Zufall display in the narthex. If you wish to make a monetary donation, please make out checks to "TLC" with “Zufall” on the memo line. Cash donations may be placed in the container marked "Zufall."

Zufall has been around for many years. We are learning that it’s more than a traveling medical van.

Dear TLC,

Thank you so much for thinking of me and for sending an amazing box of goodies. I definitely needed it, and it was an amazing reminder that I have such an incredible support system. While my college journey was not easy, I was never alone, and I cannot thank you all enough for that. I am planning to pursue my career with the same values my TLC family taught me. Thank you so much again for your support and for the amazing cookies!

Alysha Whittle :)
Dear Trinity friends,

It's sometimes easy to forget that there are nice people out there doing nice things for others. Thanks for being such a special reminder.

I want to thank the people that sent me the goodie bag. I also want to thank you for being there to help me and for all of the beautiful flowers. I surely enjoy them.

Lenten mid-week worship

Lent is a time of renewal. We focus on the death and resurrection of Jesus—and, in turn, we focus on our own death, and resurrection found in baptism. We who have been baptized into Christ have died to sin and are righteous saints of God. At the same time, we know that we struggle daily with sin as we seek to follow Jesus. This is the Lutheran understanding of sinner and saint.

It may surprise you to learn that we do commemorate saints in the Lutheran tradition: Christians from every age who have pointed to Christ in their living and dying. These Christians who have gone before us provide inspiration for our Christian journey.

As we continue to return to in-person worship, this year we are holding Lenten mid-week worship on Wednesdays at 4:30 p.m., both in person and on YouTube. Join us to commemorate saints with these themes:

If you would like someone added to or deleted from our prayer list, please let Kathy McFarland know by Wednesday. Thank you.
