Hello BIA Members,

We are excited to announce that ShopOTT2WIN returns March 27 - May 7, 2023. This contest encourages customers to spend money locally. Cash prizes are shared with the businesses they shop at. (YES - you could win $500 just for encouraging your customers to shop.)

We know you have questions, so please take a moment now to read over our FAQ below. Let us know if you have further questions.
Your business is automatically signed up to participate. Your customers spending $20 or more, including tax, but not delivery and tip, can enter.

What do I have to do?

Tell customers! Put up a poster. Remind customers under the $20 minimum at checkout that if they need anything else, they should get it now so they can enter to win! Also, make sure all your staff know about the contest and train them to upsell customers.

Who wins? What are the prizes?
Every week there is a draw for $1000. $500 goes to the customer and $500 goes to the business their receipt is from.  (Yes, you get half the prize!)

What is the Bonus Prize?

Customers who enter a minimum of 3 weeks will be entered into a BONUS DRAW for an additional $1000.

How do my customers enter?
1) You give them a receipt. (Receipts of $20 or more with tax, but excluding delivery fees and tip, are eligible.)

2) Customers upload a photo of their receipt at www.ShopOTT2Win.com (or scan the QR code on the poster to access the site.)
(Customers can also enter without purchase by writing an online review for a business and uploading that instead.)

Who is organising and paying for the prizing?

The St. Lawrence Market Neighbourhood Business Improvement Area is running this contest.

Why is this contest running?

To encourage people to shop in and support our local businesses in Old Town Toronto.

Can I enter?

Yes, you are welcome to enter when you shop at your neighbouring businesses.

What else can I do to promote this contest and encourage my customers to shop more?

- Give a contest flyer with every receipt. (see below for example)
- Consider creating a “ShopOTT2Win” package totalling $20 or more to make it easy for customers to spend the minimum.
- Follow the BIA and Like, Comment and Share as much as possible to bump the contest posts. (@OldTownToronto / @OldTownTO)
