SPECIAL NEEDS SUPPORT CENTER LAUNCHES FREE RESOURCE NAVIGATION APP
White River Junction, VT – The Special Needs Support Center (SNSC) is proud to announce the launch of its new mobile app, a one-stop central location for available resources for the disability community in the Upper Valley. The app was created collaboratively with SNSC and their partners at the Dartmouth Center for Social Impact. This resource navigation tool was created specifically for the disability community in the Upper Valley and creates transparent, accessible, and free access to information about available resources in our region.
The SNSC app allows anyone with internet access to easily find resources specifically tailored to their needs. Users can search by town, age, type of disability, insurance, and services needed. Accessibility was a design priority and is apparent in the plain language, font options, light and dark mode, and accessibility widget. This app will always be completely free to download and use and contain no ads.
Going forward, the SNSC team will be able to maintain the app, make changes as needed, and respond to user feedback. Currently featuring over 200 organizations and services in NH and VT it is their goal to keep this information current, accurate, and relevant. They will continue to add resources and services as they become available.
“It can be very overwhelming for a parent, caregiver, or adult with special needs to navigate through hundreds of services and organizations to find what they need. This new mobile and web application will help decrease the stress and precious time spent in finding services”, said SNSC’s Executive Director, Laura Perez. “This mobile app and website will help parents, self-advocates, teachers, and case managers navigate local businesses, non-profits, and other agencies with ease while saving precious time in connecting with the incredible resources available in our region”.
The SNSC app can be found in the Apple App Store under “SNSC app”. The web version can be accessed at www.snscapp.com (smartphone is not required to access).
SNSC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and relies upon the generous support of individuals, philanthropic organizations, and businesses to operate their programs.
