Annual Meeting - March 26th at 3PM
Take It or Leave It “shop” opening April 1 (weather permitting)!
The Take It or Leave It “shop” (TIOLI) is a place where residents can leave usable things they do not want, and pick up things they can use. No money is involved – everything is free. Location: 1st left as you enter the station parking area from South Greeley Avenue.
The Take It Or Leave It will be open, weather permitting (no rain, strong winds or excessive heat), on Saturdays from April 1 until the end of October. Drop-off hours are from 8:30 to 11:00 am. Shoppers will be welcome from 9am to noon, although the volunteers will start packing things back into the shed at about 11:30. Only New Castle residents may leave things, because we have limited room in the shed and everything must be stored there if not taken by noon.
Shoppers may be asked to limit their shopping time to let everyone have a chance at our wares. Signs will indicate the drop-off area.
Please note these rules: NO books, clothes, cassettes or VHS tapes, electronic equipment or things in poor condition (including chipped china). NO items heavier or bulkier than one person can handle. NO car seats, cribs, bed frames, or skis. Staff volunteers will have the right to refuse items. Children must be supervised, and please, no strollers or dogs.

THE YALE WHIFFENPOOFS
Every year, 14 students are selected to be in the Whiffenpoofs, the WORLD'S OLDEST and BEST KNOWN collegiate a cappella group. Founded in 1909, the “Whiffs” began as a senior quartet that met weekly at Mory’s Temple Bar. Today, the group has become one of Yale’s most celebrated traditions. Singing a mixture of old Yale tunes, jazz standards, and other hits from across the decades, the Whiffenpoofs perform more than 200 concerts across six continents each year.
On April 16th, The Whiffenpoofs will bring their incredible talent to the Chappaqua Performing Arts Center and celebrate a homecoming for their local member, JACOB KAUFMAN-SHALETT.

It’s sweet. It’s savory. It’s five strangers putting their hearts, reputations, and baking skills on the line to become the crème de la crème of bakers at a county fair. The heat is on to create three different types of desserts during the finals. A determined young woman dreaming of opening her own bakery. A sexy nail technician who wants to fit in. A shy school nurse who doesn’t want to be there at all. A mysterious man from Brooklyn who arouses suspicion about his past. And the reigning champion who is confident she’ll garner yet another victory this year. They’ll all get their just desserts at the Jefferson County Bake-Off! There’s a little mystery, a little romance, some potential cheating, and some back-stabbing — exactly what you expect when the competition is fierce — and the results are deliciously satisfying!
