Friday, March 31st
We have (also) taken the necessary step of canceling the Santa Cruz County STEAM Expo, previously scheduled to take place tomorrow, March 11, at the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds. This decision was made due to current access issues, as well as the need to reserve the space for those in need of shelter. The Santa Cruz County Science & Engineering Fair, which was set to take place during the expo, has been rescheduled for next weekend. Parents and partners are receiving direct communication today with further information.

Another amazing visitor to Pacific School
We can now add skunk to the list of visitors this year. It has now been humanely removed from campus, and is in the very capable hands of Native Animal Rescue. We are grateful to them, and to Teacher Ariana, who boldly trapped it and ensured its removal. Don't try this at home folks, these two have had training.
(The skunk's essence persists. It's a good thing it's the weekend!)
$BUCK-A-BOOK$ Event
Good condition children's/Young Adult book donations wanted!
March is National Reading Month and our Pacific School Read-A-Thon! This year, we’re trying something different. In lieu of the spring Scholastic book fair, introducing Buck-A-Book swap! Students and families are encouraged to drop off gently used children’s/YA books to the office. Books will be available for purchase for – you guessed it – a buck a book (or other donation amount). You can also pay it forward and purchase tickets so someone else can pick a book. All proceeds benefit PSF/the library and our school community so clean out your bookshelves then fill them up with some new favorites! Happy reading!

Please Review Pacific!
One easy, zero-cost way you can support Pacific School is by writing a short review of our TK-6th school and/or Pacific Preschool. Just three minutes of your time makes a big difference! Right now we have very few reviews, which makes it harder for families to find out about our award-winning programs and small, supportive community.
You can get four free COVID tests per household using this link.
Sick? Stay Home
Symptomatic students still need to stay home from school. Please review the Student COVID Flowchart or the County Office of Education's current COVID rules for schools.
With this week's notable spike in cases, staying home when sick, washing hands, and testing are as important as ever. A winter surge has been projected, and this may be the start.
