Thank you for your interest in joining the Kent Street Coalition!
Kent Street currently maintains three levels of participation: Active Volunteer, KSC Supporter, and Friend of KSC. On the KSC signup form, you indicated that you wanted to participate at the level of KSC Supporter. This email is designed to give you a bit more information about this participation level.
You will receive email notices about the following Kent Street activities:
- KSC Happenings: during the legislative session, we send out a weekly analysis of upcoming bills and hearings in the legislature that Kent Street either opposes or supports. This alert also includes instructions about how to sign in to register your opinion with the legislature, with direct links to the proper committees or elected officials. It greatly simplifies the process of making your voice heard.
- Calls to Action: this category includes information about activities such as postcard campaigns, upcoming visibility events at the State House, and special events that may be of interest to Kent Streeters.
- Monthly Meeting Notices: Kent Street holds regular monthly meetings the 2nd Thursday of every month, 6:30-8:30 pm. We are currently meeting via Zoom. A few days before the meeting you will receive an email notice that includes a signup link.
Another way to get involved in Kent Street activities is to join KSC's private Facebook group at KentStreetCoalition (all one word). This will inform you on a daily basis about KSC actions, people and current events.
As you may know, Kent Street is organized into specific issue Working Groups and Action Teams. These smaller groups are designed to make genuine impact around specific issues. Once you are more familiar with Kent Street, you may decide to join one of them. It is certainly not required. Please feel comfortable making tthe level of commitment that seems right for you now. We understand that some of you may only be able to respond occasionally. Do not underestimate the value of your participation and what it adds to KSC as a whole.
