Strengthening Connecticut’s Environment One Mattress at a Time

Connecticut’s proactive environmental leadership led lawmakers to create the nation’s first statewide, industry-led mattress recycling program. Administered by the Mattress Recycling Council and operating since 2015, this successful public-private partnership is working toward 1.5 million mattresses recycled and has diverted more than 48 million pounds of steel, foam, fiber and wood from the waste stream.
