Die Austrian Fashion Association vergibt 2023 über ihr Exzellenz-Förderprogramm AFA support Direktförderungen in Höhe von insgesamt EUR 120.000 aus den Kulturmitteln des Bundesministerium für Kunst, Kultur, öffentlichen Dienst und Sport und der Stadt Wien an Modedesigner:innen aus den Bereichen Womenswear, Menswear, Mixed Collection und Accessories.

AFA support unterstützt Modedesigner:innen von ersten Schritten der persönlichen Karriereentwicklung in der Modeindustrie über die Vorbereitung der Gründung eines Modelabels bis hin zum Ausbau nationaler und internationaler Vertriebs- und Distributionsstrukturen und darüber hinaus beim Erschließen von vielversprechenden Nebenmärkten oder Ergreifen von Wachstumschancen.

Die maximale Höhe des Zuschusses zur Projektfinanzierung beträgt EUR 15.000 pro Ausschreibung.
Die Fördergelder sind zweckgebunden für

Entwicklung von Prototypen und Musterkollektionen
Awareness-, Vertriebs- und Marketingmaßnahmen
strategische Vertriebs- und Marketingmaßnahmen (B2B)
nationale und internationale PR

Mit dieser Ausschreibung werden die bisherigen Förderschwerpunkte collection und international focus aufgelöst und von nun an ausschließlich unter dem Titel AFA support gefördert.

Bis 21. Mai 2023 können sich österreichische und in Österreich lebende und arbeitende Modedesigner_innen dafür bewerben.

Startstipendien MODE 2023

Das Bundesministerium für Kunst, Kultur, öffentlichen Dienst und Sport: Sektion IV Kunst und Kultur schreibt für 2023 erneut fünf Startstipendien MODE aus.

Sie stellen eine Anerkennung und Förderung für das Schaffen junger Designer:innen aus den Bereichen Mode und Accessoires dar, sollen die künstlerische Entwicklung vorantreiben und den Einstieg in die österreichische und internationale Modeszene erleichtern.

Mindestens zwei der fünf Stipendien sind dem Förderschwerpunkt Societal Challenges gewidmet, der die Bewerber:innen dazu anregen soll, sich vermehrt mit den Sustainable Development Goals der United Nations auseinanderzusetzen und sie in Projekten und Kollektionen zu implementieren.

Die Stipendien haben jeweils eine Laufzeit von 6 Monaten und sind mit je EUR 8.400,– dotiert.

Bis 21. Mai 2023 können sich österreichische und in Österreich lebende und arbeitende Modedesigner:innen dafür bewerben.

In 2023, the Austrian Fashion Association will award direct funding totaling EUR 120,000 from the cultural funds of the Federal Ministry for Art, Culture, Civil Service and Sport and the City of Vienna to fashion designers from the fields of womenswear, menswear and mixed via its excellence support program AFA support collection and accessories.

AFA support supports fashion designers from the first steps of their personal career development in the fashion industry, through the preparation of founding a fashion label, to the expansion of national and international sales and distribution structures, and beyond that in opening up promising secondary markets or seizing growth opportunities.

The maximum grant for project financing is EUR 15,000 per call.
The funding is earmarked for

Development of prototypes and sample collections
Awareness, sales and marketing measures
strategic sales and marketing measures (B2B)
national and international PR

With this call for proposals, the previous funding priorities collection and international focus will be dissolved and from now on funded exclusively under the title AFA support.
Until May 21, 2023, Austrian fashion designers and fashion designers living and working in Austria can apply.

START SCHOLARSHIPS FASHION 2023

The Federal Ministry for Arts, Culture, the Civil Service and Sport: Section IV Art and Culture is again awarding five START scholarships in the field of fashion in 2023.

They represent recognition and support for the work of young designers in the fields of fashion and accessories and are intended to promote artistic development and facilitate entry into the Austrian and international fashion scene.

At least two of the five scholarships are dedicated to the Societal Challenges funding priority, which is intended to encourage applicants to engage more with the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations and to implement them in projects and collections.

The scholarships each have a term of 6 months and are endowed with EUR 8,400 each.

Austrian fashion designers and fashion designers living and working in Austria can apply until May 21, 2023.
