New project with RUH set to explore AI detection of blood clots

University of Bath engineering researchers are set to begin a £830,000 project helping to understand how artificial intelligence (AI) could be used to detect blood clots in patients' lungs.

Working with clinicians from the Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust (the RUH) and industrial partners, they will seek to determine if AI software can help identify and guide new treatments.

Research with Impact: Tracking the health of the nation through wastewater

Imagine being able to take a snapshot of the health of a population without them having to fill out a single questionnaire or provide a urine sample. Where you can track health markers from a whole community, anonymously and in near real-time.

As a result of working with Professor Barbara Kasprzyk-Hordern and her colleagues for more than a decade, Wessex Water has supported the development of Wastewater Based Epidemiology technologies to monitor public and environmental health risks including COVID-19 surveillance.
