Spare Yourself Some Pain with Duo Restore

One of the most common issues people encounter with Duo is getting it set up again when they get a new mobile phone. This issue is exacerbated when you also use Duo Mobile as an authenticator app for third-party services like Slack, Facebook, or PayPal.

Happily, Duo Mobile includes a built-in backup feature called Duo Restore that can save you a lot of hassle the next time you replace your phone. Duo Restore backs up your Duo accounts and settings to Google Drive (for Android devices) or iCloud (for Apple devices) so that you can easily restore them on a new phone.

Setting up Duo Restore takes just a few minutes and can save you a lot of hassle in the future. You can find directions for enabling and using Duo Restore in the Duo knowledge base.

If you get a new phone but have NOT set up Duo Restore, you can find directions for re-enrolling your phone for UC Davis in the campus knowledge base. Note that this only applies to UC Davis services—you will need to work directly with any third-party service providers to reconfigure Duo as your authenticator app.

Library E-book Survey
