Sunday School
Everyone is welcome at our in-person Sunday School!
We begin the service in the main worship space and then depart to the Annex for various activities each Sunday.
Update From The Official Board
As was indicated in last week's announcements, Annika's last Sunday with us was March 12 and her last day at St. John’s United is this Wednesday, March 15. She has pro-rated vacation and other leave which means that her official end date will be March 31st, as projected.
In the meantime, we have been contacted by David Hewitt from Region 15 about the next steps in this transition. Our congregation will need to establish a Profile Team that looks at the congregational needs and reports to the Region. There will be a Liaison from Region 15 assigned to the committee to assist with this process. The Official Board is putting together this committee and will report more when we have that established.
Last Sunday we had an opportunity to say our fond farewells to Annika as a congregation, and individually over the past few workdays. We wish her well in her new position at Schools Plus and in this new stage in her working life.
Annual General Meeting - Sunday, March 26
The St. John's United Church Annual General Meeting will be held immediately following our
shortened worship service on Sunday, March 26. This meeting will be both in-person and

Youth Group
The Peninsula Youth group will meet again on Sunday, March 19 from
5:00-7:00 pm - we will be discussing the question "How Long Would We Last
In A Zombie Apocolypse?". All youth grades 7-12 are welcome; dinner is
provided. Please let Kathy Cawsey,kcawsey@eastlink.ca, know if you have
any dietary needs.
How You Can Support Our Youth
Did you know that we have a wonderful Peninsula-wide Youth Group? They meet every other Sunday evening here at St. John’s over supper. And you know how much teens eat, right?
People have dropped off all kinds of yummy food (THANK YOU!) over the past few weeks, but right now the list is blank for any more meals...
So if you’d like to support this great initiative and these great kids, please consider feeding them! Sign up for a basic meal (or two) for about 8 people. Or simply order them pizza, whatever works for you.
Please connect with Kathy or Hubert if you’d like to help. Thank you so much - and Bon Appétit!
Spiritual Friends
The Spiritual Friends group meets on Mondays from 5:30 to 6:30 pm from September to June on Zoom. New members are always welcome.
We discuss and analyze a variety of topics and ideas each week based on theological themes. A variety of media is used including books, videos, poetry, artwork, and podcasts.
St. John's United Book Club
The St. John's Book Club meets the fourth Wednesday of the month from September to June (with the exception of December).
Our February meeting was canceled due to Ash Wednesday so we will be discussing both The Scent Keeper and Insomniac City on March 22.
Please contact the church office if you'd like to know more.
