WEDNESDAY PRAYER SERVICE
We hope you can join us tonight for our weekly prayer gathering. We meet at 7pm in the sanctuary. Together, let's seek his face and hear his voice.
MEMBERSHIP CLASS
Are you interested in becoming a member of Wellspring? Join us on Saturday, April 22, from 8:30am-1pm for the Membership Class (lunch included). It’s important to register ahead of time so we can send you information before the class and so we can know how many people will be there for lunch. Childcare available for children 10 and under ($10/child). Please register here by April 16. Contact congregational leader Dean Renninger here with any questions. We would love to have you join us!
CHILI COOK-OFF
Come One, Come All to the 2023 Wellspring “Come and Taste” Chili Cook-Off! Sunday, March 19 at 5:30pm in the Living Water Room. We hope you will cook up a pot of chili and bring that to share! There will be judges from the Kairos group to award a prize to their pick for the tastiest chili! And you will be able to give your input for the chili that will receive the People’s Choice Award.

Sign up here so that we will know how much table space to prepare. But if you forget to signup – COME ANYWAY!

We’d love to sample some of your delicious chili, but if you can’t bring chili – COME ANYWAY! You can bring a dessert to share!
GUITAR PLAYERS
If you play the guitar and have a heart for worship, let us know! You might be interested in connecting with our worship team. Contact Heather for more information.
WHO AT WELLSPRING ________ ?
The Nominating Committee needs your help! As we work to identify candidates from our body for elected leadership positions and other ministry needs, we are eager for your input. Visit nomcom.wellspringalliance.net to submit a brief recommendation form. It only takes a few minutes, and your input is extremely valuable to the committee. All submissions are due by March 26.
TUTOR SUBSTITUTES NEEDED
Our tutors are traveling in March and yet we still want to provide the best one-on-one experiences when possible. Would you consider being a substitute tutor on some Thursday afternoons from 3:30-4:30? We would love to have you jump in and provide love and care to these wonderful kids. Let Pastor Kathy know if you are interested.
PRAYER ROOM during LENT
This year for Lent, we are encouraging a slowed down spirituality, with intentional time in quietness and prayer. We are offering a 40-Day Prayer Room that provides this still and sacred space. The rooms also offer interactive prayer stations to walk through individually or  together as home groups or families. It is self-paced. The room will be open:
  • Monday-Thursday from 10am-4pm
  • Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings 7-9pm
  • Saturdays 8-11am
  • Sundays following the morning worship service
On weekdays, enter through the church office door. For evenings and Saturdays, enter through the single door on the west side of the building by the fence. Any additional questions or requests for another time, please contact Judy Duncan.
WOMEN'S CONFERENCE
Women of Wellspring, let's discover together how the sweet the presence of Christ brings joy, no matter the season. We will share together, then turn our gaze toward Him that we might also be filled with the oil of gladness.  We get to host this special event on Saturday, April 29 from 10am-2pm, $10 per person. This is a day led by our own Midwest District of the C&MA! Register online here.

INTERNATIONAL WORKER FOCUS

International Worker Focus
Let's lift up Stephen & Louise Anderson serving with YWAM in the UK and Asia

Stephen and Louise’s ministry is in reaching the least-evangelized people groups in the world with the love of Christ. They do this by helping plant culturally-sensitive house church movements among Middle Eastern immigrants living in the United Kingdom and in South Asia.

Their ministry is known as Disciple-Making-Movements, and the goal is to use easily-reproducible methods that empower new believers to begin house fellowships among their own family, friends, and neighbors. Stephen and Louise serve as international training consultants helping YWAM and teams from several agencies to be more effective in this style of ministry.

Louise’s latest responsibility is facilitating a Video Series Project that presents the message of Jesus in a culturally relevant way to a Hindu audience. Stephen’s latest encouragement is how eight new Muslim background believers have recently joined their Christian Discipleship Group – a specific answer to prayer!

Please pray for the Anderson family to boldly represent Jesus in their actions and words, that they may be conduits of God’s love to those around them, and that God would receive glory through their lives.

THIS SUNDAY @ WHEATON
Seeing
John 9:1-13

Pastor Mitch Kim

When we assume that everything should be comfortable, we are surprised by suffering. And, surprised by suffering, we want to blame someone for that suffering. When the disciples meet a man blind from birth, they want to blame his sickness on someone’s sin. This explanation is simplistic. In John 9, Jesus shows that suffering is not an opportunity to blame others but to see God’s works as Jesus reverses the curse and sends us out to witness.
