SaxaVord Spaceport progresses to vertical launches

SaxaVord Spaceport – based on the Shetland Islands – is collaborating with space engineering safety specialists Plastron UK to develop an advanced satellite payload processing facility (PPF). They are constructing two cleanrooms and an air lock, enabling SaxaVord to host satellites of up to 1,000kg. A capability unique to SaxaVord in the UK, the spaceport highlights.

Arkansas Spaceport project gets boost in state Senate

Holding up the “live long and prosper” hand sign on the Senate floor Wednesday, Sen. Justin Boyd presented House Bill 1499, which would call for the Arkansas Economic Development Commission to conduct a study to determine if the state should develop a spaceport. state Senate on Wednesday provided a key liftoff for a spaceport project that supporters say could provide opportunities for the state well into the future. The state Senate voted 34-0 to approve HB1499.

Huelva Spaceport: the launch base for MIURA 1, the first Spanish space rocket

The Elche-based private space company, PLD Spaceis about to launch the MIURA 1he first space rocket made in Spainwhich will also take off from the Huelva Space Port, which is almost finished. You can see it in the opening video of the news. PLD Space is a Spanish space company that is going to put the space rocket into orbit MIURA 1 during the first half of 2023. Later it will carry out the first real space transport mission with the MIURA 5at the end of 2024.

Kazakhstan Seizes Assets At Russia’s Baikonur Spaceport

Kazakhstan has taken control of Russian assets on Baikonur spaceport, local KZ24 media reported on March 7, citing the country’s court bailiff service. Kazakhstan’s bailiff service banned Russia's Space Infrastructure Center from transferring its assets and property out of the country and ordered the entity's leader to remain in Kazakhstan. The property belongs to TsENKI Center for Operation of Space Ground-based Infrastructure, a subsidiary of Russia’s Roscosmos State Corp.

India’s New “Spaceport” to be built by spaceport Kulasekarapattinam

The Tamil Nadu government is planning to set up a new Space Industrial Park and a Propellants Park near Thoothukudi in order to take advantage of Centre’s move to build a new spaceport in Kulasekarapattinam in southern Tamil Nadu. The main goal of Kulasekarapattinam is to be used by private companies to launch their small satellites into orbit.
