Shining a Light on Infant Mortality and Maternal Health

This Womens History Month, we are shining a light on infant mortality and maternal health. The National Institute for Health Care Management (NIHCM) shows that infant mortality is about three times higher for Black women than white women.

And, here in Nashville, according to a NashvilleHealth 2019 Infant Safe Sleep Report, 66% of sleep-related infant deaths in Metropolitan Nashville were Black infants. We must do better!

This month, and every month, we will continue our fight for #healthequity in Nashville.

Data is a POWERFUL Thing

A new online tool is providing critical health data for EVERY U.S. community.

The Congressional District Health Dashboard is revealing stark geographic, racial, and ethnic disparities in health and well-being.

Free access to this information can influence change and guide us toward #healthequity. We encourage everyone to take a look and take action!
