Music Trip
Thank you to everyone for how the Music Trip went this past weekend! The entire trip was a major success. Students had a blast, chaperones were amazing in keeping everything running, and students were very well behaved. Everywhere we went, strangers would come up to myself, Mr. Fowkes, and Mrs. Woodill to say how well mannered the students were.

Assessment
Today, all students from the FHS Band Program performed at George Mason University for VBODA Assessment. Three judges listened to their performance on stage and gave a rating from '1-5,' with '1' being the highest possible rating (a superior rating).
Symphonic/Concert Band received a 1, 1, and 2 from the judges on stage. They also received a 1 from the Sight Reading judge. This had their overall rating as a 1!
Wind Ensemble received straight 1's from the judges on stage (all 1's), and a 1 from the judge in sight reading. This gave the group an overall rating as a 1, another superior rating!

Honor Band
Each year, bands have the opportunity to receive "Honor Band." This means that both concert and marching band groups receive a Superior Rating at their respective assessments. I am proud to announce that Fairfax High School will receive Honor Band for the 2022-2023 school year! Congratulations to all!
