If you're heading to Toronto Comic Con this Saturday, I'll be a guest on the Bootleg Safari panel.
I'll join Safari creator Aaron Reynolds and Sam Noir to discuss bootleg toys and waxwork figures. The previous episodes are available here, and they are a riot.
If you can't make it, don't worry; it'll be up on the site soon enough.
Anyhoo, thanks for reading and for subscribing. This has been another week full of fun surprises from, well, almost everyone it seems.
As always, I'm open to talking through email. If you have stuff you'd like us to share or an idea for content, please drop me a line. I like to be as inclusive as possible but I miss a lot of stuff these days.
Cheers!
Brian

USA Tickets can be purchased here when they become available: https://thepower-con.com/tickets-exclusives/
Entrance to Power-Con will allow you access to the MegoMeet 2023 dealer’s block. In addition, there will also be Mego Meet-specific panels, rooms and events that we will announce over the coming months and weeks. Registration for those events will take place at the MM and will not include any extra costs.
Hotel Information: The show hotel is the Hilton, it’s across the street, and you don’t even have to go outside as the Hilton is connected to the convention center. There is a block of Power-Con/MegoMeet rooms here at a discounted rate, but I’d act fast. https://book.passkey.com/go/POWERCON2023
Dealer Tables:
MegoMeet 2023 will have 20 dealer 6′ by 6′ booths at a discounted rate through Power-Con. They are 175 each and include one Power Con exhibitor pass with a table.
The Mego Museum is going to curate this space and we are favouring Vintage and creators from our custom community to give it the flavour we’re used to at Mego Meet. If Mego Meet fills up, there are still tables available at the regular rate. Power-Con is handling all finances for this round of MegoMeet.
If you are interested in displaying in the “Mego Meet 2023” section, email MegoMeet2023@gmail.com. Let us know your name and an overview of what you plan to bring.
This is the only way to get a Dealer Table in the Mego Section.
We will announce other MM activities and exclusives soon and hope to see you and keep MegoMeet alive in 2023.
Toy-Ventures magazine is a return to the old-school print publication specifically for collectors. We cover toys and action figures from the 1960s to the 1990s in a full-colour comprehensive manner.
So if you miss the days of Toyfare and Tomarts, give Toy-Ventures a try.
In Issue 9 of Toy-Ventures Magazine, Basement of Horror host Ray Castile recalls his adventures locating the Marx Whistling Spooky Kooky Tree. This joyful article was deemed "Best of the Issue" by one of our editors, and well, I wholeheartedly agree.
Check Out Ray's channel here; he has 138 (!) episodes of Basement of Horror available for viewing. It is highly recommended.
