Celebrate Graduate Student Appreciation Week!


The 2023 Graduate Student Appreciation Week (GSAW) is approaching fast! GSAW is a nationally recognized week celebrating the achievements, impacts, and contributions of our graduate and professional students. This year’s GSAW is taking place April 3 – 7, and to celebrate we are hosting several free, in-person and online events open to all graduate students. If you attend five events or more throughout this week, you will receive a Grad College swag bag!
 
Some events include the Alkek Progressive Lunch, Grad Student Virtual Trivia Night, and the Letters to Myself. You can find out more about these events and others, plus register for them, on our GSAW webpage.

  Graduate Student Research Conference


Registration to attend the Graduate Student Research Conference (GSRC) is open! We invite all Texas State faculty, staff, and students to attend this year’s conference taking place April 4 – 5 to support graduate student research! Register to attend at the San Marcos campus or the Round Rock campus!

  Exploring Doctoral Studies - Graduate Information Session


Are you thinking about furthering your education by attaining a doctoral degree? Are you wondering how this is different from the master’s degree experience? Attend our Doctoral Studies Graduate Information Session and learn the ins and outs of doctoral programs from The Graduate College Associate Dean, Dr. Eric Paulson!

Academic Researcher Profiles: Getting Started + Tips for Success

Are you publishing or presenting research in your discipline? Do you want to make your research more impactful? Develop an online researcher profile and make your research more discoverable by researchers globally.

Online tools such as ORCID, ResearchGate, Web of Science, and Google Scholar Citations can be useful for establishing a successful online academic profile. They can increase the impact of your research, ensure credit for your work, and streamline the publishing and grant-funding process.

In this Shop Talks session, we will show some examples of successful online researcher profiles and the impact you can make by managing your online academic environment.

External funding opportunity: Hope for the Warriors Military Spouse/Caregiver Scholarship Program

Program Overview: offers multiple scholarships for tuition, books, and supplies to celebrate and reward the spouses and caregivers of post-9/11 veterans
Eligibility: spouse or caregiver’s ability to show their post-9/11 service member or veteran sustained a combat-related injury and/or has a 100% permanent and total VA disability rating to include Individual Unemployability
Citizenship: U.S. citizens, permanent residents, international
Benefits: $2,500
Deadline: April 30, 2023
