Charity Finances

The pandemic took its toll with a fall in ensemble membership which also reduced charity fundraising income whilst the new commercial storage costs for instruments and music raised our expenditure.

We heard from our Treasurer at the Trustee meeting that we are heading towards a predicted loss by the end of our financial year which will start eating into our contingency reserve.

With less players performing at the Anvil this year we need your help to promote the Concert to your friends and family to ensure there is a good sized audience for your children, and to help the concert break even or we may be asked to step in and support the event financially which would further reduce our contingency reserve.

The viability of future ensemble concerts at this venue may be affected by this year’s attendance.

Simple Fundraising Ideas

Anyone with a FACEBOOK account can be a FUNDRAISER in a couple of minutes.

Just follow the instructions here https://www.facebook.com/help/990087377765844 and search for ‘The Friends of Basingstoke Area Youth Orchestras and Choirs’ as your charity.

Why not try requesting a donation from your friends instead of a card for your next Birthday?

We are also providing refreshments at other organisation’s concerts.

Last weekend members of the committee attended the Basingstoke Music and Arts Festival Concert to provide refreshments and raised £150.

5 of our committee are performing in the next concert that we have the opportunity to raise funds at.

Deane Sinfonia with Basing Singers and Ooh Mama

  • 18th June 2023

We will need some other helpers on the refreshment stall.

3rd - 4th April 2023

Children in school years 4, 5 and 6 will have the opportunity to learn either Vocals, Electric Guitar, Bass Guitar, Keyboard or Drums and be taught by our specialist Rock 2 the Beat tutor team.

Over the two days, they will learn to play their instruments and learn a song within a band and ensemble environment, making new friends along the way, all ending in a concert performance to show off what they've achieved!
