Christian Schlabs started in the office on March 13 and his first Sunday with us will be this weekend, March 19. Christian comes to First Methodist Carrollton from St. Andrew Methodist Church in Plano where he served as the Media Associate starting in 2018. He is a native Texan, having grown up in Flower Mound where he attended Trietsch Memorial UMC. He graduated from Lakeland Christian Academy in Lewisville.

When Christian was a teenager, he first felt a calling to serve in ministry when he became involved with a local coffee shop that was connected with a local church. The owner of the coffee shop and some of the staff members were very involved and encouraged him to join them for service sometime. That invitation led Christian to begin volunteering at the local church running sound. Volunteering at the church eventually led to Christian going to college to be an audio engineer.

Christian met his wife, Paige, six years ago when they were set up by mutual friends, and they were married a year and a half ago. Paige works for State Farm's corporate office handling claims. When Christian is not at work, he enjoys spending time with wife, gardening, reading books, watching soccer, and playing video games. He is excited to start meeting everyone at FMC and getting into the swing of all things A/V and Tech!

Greetings Church,
I want to update you on the search for our next Senior Pastor and Worship Leader.
The Staff-Parish Relations Committee (SPRC) is working diligently with the Global Methodist Church (GMC) within their process for providing candidates. They took our pastor survey and congregational survey to match us with some perfect candidates. SPRC will be reviewing all the material provided and will set up times with each candidate that we determine should go to the next step.
Please understand that the GMC has asked SPRC to keep all the names and details highly confidential at this phase. We ask that you continually pray for our next pastor and SPRC as we move through all the details and processes.
For the Worship Leader position, the search committee is continuing to review resumes and screen candidates. We also ask for you to continually pray for the person the Lord has for our community, and for the search committee as they move through the process for this position.
I do want to give a big thank you to Leslie Blum, our Interim Worship Leader. She has served us so beautifully and faithfully. As you see her, be sure to give her a thank you and/or hug or high five. We are so thankful God brought her to us during this time as she has been an immense blessing to our community.
As always, prayer is the most important thing as we ask God to lead us to who He has for us. We trust Him and remain excited as we move forward as a community of faith. It is our honor to serve the Lord and you.
