St. Anthony High School – March 17, 2023
A Note from the
President & Principal

Dear Saints Families,

Happy St. Patrick's Day Saints! We had a great week. The first official week of the 4th quarter is done. Our Seniors are eagerly looking forward to all of the activities that come with this quarter, and our students are looking forward to summer. However, there is still a lot to finish before the end of the school year. Let's finish strong together!

We are so excited to see our Saints community at the SAINTS RUN 5K event tomorrow morning! Get ready to "Paint the Shoreline Purple" together. It should be a beautiful day down on the beach, so come out and walk with family, friends, alumni, and community members!

Go Saints!

Academics

Dual Enrollment with Long Beach City College

St. Anthony High School students are eligible for dual enrollment with LBCC. Courses are offered in both in person and online formats depending on the specific course. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to take some advancement and various enrichment courses and earn college credit this summer). SAHS students are allowed to take elective courses in areas of interest such as arts, business, computer science, physical education, and the behavioral sciences.  Students may also be approved for select math courses to allow the student to reach Calculus in the senior year. SAHS students are not allowed to remediate deficient grades or take core SAHS courses as through dual enrollment. Please see page 83 of the Parent Student Handbook for the school policy regarding dual enrollment.

Students interested in dual enrollment at LBCC should visit the LBCC Dual Enrollment site (link: https://www.lbcc.edu/post/individual-dual-enrollment), look at the courses offered this summer (link: https://apps.lbcc.edu/schedule/ )and check in with Ms. Martinez (tamara.martinez@longbeachsaints.org) or Mr. Jondle (kris.jondle@longbeachsaints.org) for approval. Dual enrollment at LBCC is a productive way to spend part of the summer. Check it out.
