Dear Parents,

IAR Testing

Please make sure your child gets enough sleep next week and arrives at school on time! If they need breakfast, they may arrive early to eat BEFORE they head to class.

Our state testing in Reading and Math starts next week At Thorp. We have been working with your child to ensure that they are prepared. For more information please see our IAR Testing / Google Classroom Presentation

Congratulations to Oliver Keller, who qualified for the City of Chicago Spelling Bee Championship on March 2nd!

Lost and Found

Remember to label your child’s coat and other personal items (lunchbox, water bottles, etc.). This makes it easier for the items to be returned to your child. If you would like to go through the Lost and Found before or after school, you can check in at the security desk with Mr. Serbia.

Say Goodbye to Lake Thorp!

Thank you to FoT and especially: Kate Whalen, Alyssa Jefferies, Christine Bissler and Colleen Lammel-Harmon! Our school was just selected to receive a project grant by the Water Environment Federation to address the ponding water in our teacher parking lot and playground.

Enjoy your weekend!

Efren Toledo

If you plan on volunteering for a field trip please register here. (We know that it says day trip chaperones require a level 2 clearance, but parent chaperones are often out of the line of sight of the teacher and a more rigorous check helps to ensure the safety of all of our students.

 Xavier Loza`s profile picture

My name is Xavier Loza, I am a CPS graduate, teacher, and parent. I chose to teach because I love learning and my goal is not just to teach my students new things, but to  also inspire the desire of being life long learners. My wife and I shave 3 kids during free time we camping, road trip, go on bike rides, I like work on my cars or bikes. One of my favorite quotes is from Albert Einstein, "If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough".
