The IACHR invites you to visit the traveling exhibition Being Women at ESMA

The IACHR invites you to visit the traveling exhibition Being Women at ESMA, which is on display through March 31 at the Marcus Garvey Gallery of the Casa de las Américas in Washington, D.C.

This exhibition presents the testimony of women who were detained at the Escuela Mecánica de la Armada (ESMA), which operated as a clandestine detention, extermination and torture center during the last civil-military dictatorship in Argentina.

As part of its work to promote processes of Memory, Truth and Justice, the IACHR seeks with this exhibition to create a space to reflect on the differential impact suffered by women in the context of dictatorships and armed conflicts.

The exhibition is open to the public Monday through Friday from 9:00AM to 5:00PM.

Casa de las Americas, 17th St and Constitution Ave., N.W. Washington, D.C.
