'Love your library in your language' - a collaboration across Public Libraries Victoria, CAVAL, Multicultural Services and Programs group, and Myli – My Community Library.   

The campaign aims to encourage library patrons from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds to participate by writing a message of love to their library in their preferred language during Cultural Diversity Week 11-21 March and Harmony Week 20-26 March 2023. The program launches this Saturday 11 March in participating libraries and is open to all ages. It encourages engagement with the CALD community, but all library patrons can participate.

We have created vibrant postcards (featured above) that will provide a space for a handwritten message. All you have to do is visit a participating library during this time to write a message and we will showcase them digitally and physically, wherever possible. Throughout the campaign, you can tag us (Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn ), and use #loveyourlibrary when you share a photo of completed postcards on social media. We can't wait to read your messages!

At the end of the campaign, the completed postcards will be shared with the Victorian Minister for Multicultural Affairs, The Hon Colin Brooks. The postcards will help raise awareness of the importance of libraries for Victoria’s multicultural communities.
