Treasurer needed for JAMS PTSA 2023-24
Are you or a parent you know in our school community good with bookkeeping, accounting and/or finances and are looking for a great volunteer experience? JAMS PTSA is looking for a Treasurer for the 2023-2024 school year. If you are interested, email Ericka Lesley, JAMS PTSA Parliamentarian, stallion3192@gmail.com. You must be a PTSA member to be considered.
Annual Elections and More at Next PTSA Meeting
The next Association meeting will be Thursday, March 9, 2023, at 6:30pm in the Library. Our annual elections will be held at the March meeting, so come vote for the 2023-2024 slate of executive board officers. Parent Ed Night will follow with Dr. Zelana Montminy and Dolly Klock, M.D., who will facilitate a conversation on
"Resilience and Awareness: Cultivating Emotional Strength in Our Children to Help Them Navigate the Challenging Situations Teens Face Today."
JAMS 8th Grade Movie Night

The suggested donation is $20 per student, please give what you can, more if you are able. Proceeds benefit JAMS PTSA to help fund teacher supplies, staff appreciation, grade level activities, campus beautification, library tutors, theater programs, and more!

Love at First Sip
Please join us for an Italian wine tasting led by Lance Montalto, the Wine House’s Italian Wine Buyer featuring his personally selected wines from Sicily. This event is hosted by the Wine House on Thursday, March 9, 7pm - 8:30pm.
Light appetizers are included; if you wish to eat dinner at the Wine House Kitchen restaurant before or after the tasting, you may reserve a table directly with the restaurant.
Cost: $40 per person, plus a bottle of wine worth $80 or more to donate to our Wine

Summer Adventure Online Registration Opens Monday, March 6!

Attendance & what to do if your child is absent or leaving early:
ABSENCES
All absences and tardies must be excused by parents or guardians. Parents should report absences via the JAMS website (click on "Find It Fast" and then "Report an Absence"; or click here) or by leaving a phone message at 310-452-2326 x72201. Phone messages should include your child's name, ID number or birthdate, date of absences and a detailed reason for the absence.
LEAVING EARLY
Please let us know first thing in the morning if your child will be leaving school early. You may send your child with a note (to bring to the office before the start of school), fill out the online "Report an Absence" form or leave a detailed phone message at 310-452-2326 x72201. The note/message should contain your child's name, the time they will be leaving, the reason for leaving early and a phone number where you can be reached for verification. If advance notice is not given, please be patient with us as we locate your child and bring them to the office. This is especially important during lunch and nutrition when students are spread out all over campus.
Absences that are not cleared within 72 hours will be recorded as truant. For more information on attendance policies, please visit the JAMS website or refer to SMMUSD's Attendance FAQ page.
