Grants & funding opportunities, development update & more!
Making your community projects a reality

Congratulations to the 27 local organisations who received donations and grants of between $600 and $7,000 last week, as part of almost $120,000 in funding through our Community Assistance Scheme.

With this scheme, we aim to encourage and increase participation and support initiatives that promote partnerships within our Highlands community. This year’s recipients included local netball clubs, Koori Kulcha Aboriginal Corporation and the Connect Christian Church.

President of the Southern Highlands Netball Association, Renae Lewis, said that funding would help boost participation rates across the Shire.

“We’re thrilled to receive this funding and thank Council for the opportunity.”

Could your organisation do with a helping hand? Apply for the next round of funding by 7 April 2023.

We’ve heard you loud and clear and we’re taking action!

You told us that you want to see our Development Application (DA) times improved and we promise to reduce turnaround times.

We’re going to allocate more frontline staff to processing of applications, engage contractors and employ more technical staff to help clear the backlog.

Our target is to bring the average processing time below 100 days by mid-year and 60 days by the year's end.
