This month I couldn't decide how to talk about all these little things in a coherent email so I made a list instead.
A List of What's Been Happening:
1. Mariana visited me for a week and we went to an animation film festival in Flagey almost every day. I liked one short called My Year of Dicks and just realised it is available on Vimeo, so here you go.
2. I moved to a new apartment! The new house is very close to the old house but brought me a completely new soundscape. Now, I can hear birds, school children and, yesterday, a heated argument in the street between drivers.

3. Joined the Zine Club hosted by Camille Van Hoof. She makes autobiographic comics and had us drawing a memory. I drew something recent and was very happy about it, I should do diary comics more often. I always think I don't have time, but when I actually sit down to do it it's not that complicated.

4. Remember a few months ago me writing about a paper theatre I watched here in Brussels? Well, Eric is taking his show on tour in Portugal! He is looking for people curious to see his live-animated movie and willing to set something up in their living room, gallery or concert hall. Send him a message!

5. Serpa Award for Picture Books is open! As a past winner and past jury member I am absolutely biased but I really encourage you to participate!
|
|
6. Randomly found this old news story about a white kangaroo being spotted in Belgium, a few years ago. He had escaped his house but I couldn't figure out if he was ever found.
7. This week, the first snowy day.

8. Today, I keep thinking about the kangaroo, who must have been perfectly camouflaged.

See you next month!
