TODAY'S WORD

by: Joel Osteen

Something Beautiful

There’s nothing beautiful about clay. It’s just an earthy material that develops plasticity when wet. But when the potter puts the clay on the wheel and begins to spin it, he never takes his hands off it. It doesn’t look like much, but the potter keeps molding it until it begins to take the shape of a vase, plate or bowl. The potter says, “Just give me some time. You see a lump of worthless clay, but I see something beautiful and valuable.”

God is our potter. He never takes His hands off us, shaping and molding us. All those times when you thought God had forgotten about you, His hands were on you. When you weren’t making good decisions, when you were giving in to temptations, He didn’t throw you out because you’re clay, with faults and weaknesses. His hands have always been on you, and He’s never going to take them off you. If you stay in faith and give God the time, He’ll shape you into something beautiful, into His image.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

by: Joel Osteen

"Father, thank You that You are the potter and I am the clay. Thank You for where I am right now, faults and all, and that You are molding and making me into Your image. Help me to have the confidence that Your hands have always been and will always be on me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

by: Joel Osteen

Yet you, LORD, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.

 Isaiah 64:8, NIV
