Next Events

Contrary to the impression I gave in last week's newsletter there is a second event this weekend as well as our own Saturday Series event in Altyre. So far 42 have entered for the Altyre event. Entries are still open until Wednesday evening. Ken is the organiser and is still looking assistance on the day and in particular for someone to take care of the first aid position. If you are going then Ken needs to hear from you particularly if you are first aid qualified. ken.anderson11 (at) btinternet.com

For some reason I failed to mention that there is the first Scottish Orienteering League of the year at Errochty on Sunday and entries are now closed. Fortunately 18 of you knew about it and have entered so we're hoping to see the usual spectacular MOR results. It will be included in our main league table.

The link in red at the bottom of each newsletter to the Scottish Orienteering Calendar will give you all the fixtures in Scotland ordered by months.

Coaching reminder from Morag
Just a reminder that there will be a pre-event Club Coaching session before the event this Saturday, starting at 9.45am for about an hour.
We already have 14 people signed up for this week’s session.  However, if anyone else would like to join in, please let me know by Wednesday evening at the latest.  Email coach@mor.scot

Scottish Middle Distance Championships and SOL 2
This event is on Saturday the 18th March at Beecraigs Country Park and is followed by SOL 2 in the Pentland Hills on the 19th. Entries and information about the Middle Distance Championships are here.

Entries and information about SOL 2 are here. Please note pre-entry will be available via Fabian4 from Wednesday 1st March until 6pm on Wednesday 15th March.  However to guarantee a map of your chosen course you must enter by 23.59 on Sunday 12th March.

British Long Distance Championships - 25th March
These Championships are being held near Newbury and the entries page is here. So far the McLuckie family, Nikki, Sophie and Anna Howard and Eddie are the Moravian representatives. We wish them all well.

News from Steve following the Portuguese O Meet
We have finished the POM and our runs qualified Moravian OC 138th out of 430 clubs. That did surprise us and we gave each other a pat on the back and a glass of wine. Andrew thinks we should buy ourselves a new inflatable finish banner.

Great news for one of our members
