Testify before Tuesday to get state money for faith communities building affordable housing!

The Land & Housing Coalition has submitted a house bill (HB 3482) that will provide $10 million in grants to faith communities and tribal communities that need immediate money to pay for feasibility studies, surveys, and other pre-development dollars to learn whether we can build affordable housing on our land.

We know that this is a huge barrier for many of our communities. Additionally, this money would pay for organizing around countering NIMBYism in our communities around our faith-based projects.

This bill will be going before the House Committee on Housing and Homelessness this coming Tuesday, March 21st at 8:00am for testimony and voting. After this hearing, the committee will send this on to the next step for review and approval by the Ways and Means Committee.

Here is the one-pager on HB 3482 to help you coordinate and submit your testimony, including a draft script. WE NEED TESTIMONY FROM FAITH COMMUNITIES AND PARTNERS NOW for this to go through! Individual clergy, lay people, and interested friends are needed to testify live remotely and in writing. The more testimonies we have the more likely this money will come through the State!

Please share with your people and (most importantly) submit testimony yourselves.
We can do this!
In solidarity,

Your Land & Housing Team,
Jules, Jake, Sarah, Anna, and Alyssa
