Dear <<First Name>>

As we continue to grow, we ask ourselves, what is the best way to serve our community? Providing the right resources and ensuring that people can access them is an important part of carrying out our mission to fight for worker justice. With the help of our growing team, we plan to do just that. We strive to find people that are passionate about making an impact and are eager to learn more about how we can better serve our client communities. And, creating an environment where our clients feel welcomed and represented is just as important.

Each NWJP staff member brings something different to the table. Their unique experiences, backgrounds, and desire to make a positive change help continue the mission of protecting worker’s rights.

This year, we have added some incredible, talented people to the NWJP team. We are excited to introduce you to Nichté, Lizbeth and reintroduce you to Lindsay, who rejoined NWJP!

Lindsay Jonasson   |  Staff Attorney

Lindsay (she, her, ella) is a staff attorney with a focus on immigration law. She has been involved with NWJP since 2008, and her path has been shaped by the opportunity to accompany immigrant workers and communities in their struggles for justice. Those experiences eventually led her to law school, graduating from Lewis & Clark Law in 2019. Before returning to NWJP in 2023, Lindsay practiced immigration law with Immigrant Law Group, supporting her clients in a wide range of humanitarian and family-based cases. She has worked with many survivors of trauma and is committed to a trauma-informed approach to legal advocacy. She also enjoys spending time with family and friends, connecting with new people and places, and going on outdoor adventures. Lindsay is a member of the Oregon bar.

Lizbeth Duran   |  Paralegal

Lizbeth Duran (she, her, ella) is Mexican and a graduate from the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo as an economist and psychologist, with a social approach. She has different work experiences with indigenous, women, children, teenagers, students and organizations. She worked as a farmworker in the Southern Oregon Valley. Lizbeth has a strong social justice commitment.

Nichté Verdugo   |  Worker Leadership Coordinator

Nicthé (ella, she, her) Before joining NWJP, Nicthé was a community organizer with Unite Oregon in the Rogue Valley and later joined SEIU Local 503 as a labor organizer to center Homecare and Personal Support worker power in Oregon. At a very young age, she was no stranger to participating in rallies and marches or being an observer in organizing and intercultural community spaces. Because of this, she was highly aware of injustices impacting immigrant, indigenous and low-wage communities. Her parents always made it a point to remember that workers have rights y siempre hacer nuestros derechos valer. She enjoys sharing space with loved ones, caring for her 9-year-old pitbull, and exploring the outdoors in her free time.
