EXPANDING SERVICES
Early Childhood Therapeutic Partnership
This partnership, together with Children's Learning Centers of Fairfield County (CLC), is the result of a five year SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) grant awarded to CGC. This project intends to expand access and capacity of the early childhood focused services that CGC provides and also train other clinicians and communities in the work that we do. These services include: 1. Mental health consultation monthly for every preschool classroom at our partner, CLC.
2. Reflective Group Consultation support monthly for every CLC classroom teacher.
3. Preschool-based mental health services at multiple CLC locations.
4. Increased access to evidence-based trauma treatments.
5. Increased capacity for comprehensive developmental evaluations beginning Fall 2023.
6. Train clinicians at our affiliate, Community Health Center Inc., in evidence-based trauma treatment and support replication of CGC/CLC partnership in communities across the State of Connecticut.
7. Data collection, analysis, and evaluation to determine program efficacy.
Project Director Kate Murphy expressed, “We are so excited to expand our early childhood services at CGC to continue to provide accessible, high quality services to the youngest children in our community. As we came out of the COVID-19 pandemic, children’s mental health has become a top priority and concern. At CGC, our early childhood specialized clinicians provide a spectrum of promotion, prevention, and intervention services uniquely tailored to meet the needs of young children and their families by our early childhood specialized clinicians and team. We are energized by our partnership with Children’s Learning Centers of Fairfield County and look forward to continued growth together within our collaborative relationship.”
