It is with great excitement that I introduce myself as the new Director of Programs at Recreational Sports. As a UT alumnus (BA ’03) who spent countless hours playing, working, and hanging out at RecSports programs and facilities, it brings me great joy to return to campus in this role.
My portfolio includes Membership and Guest Services, Intramural Sports, Sport Clubs, Fitness + Wellness, Outdoor Recreation, and our Instructional program. I am thrilled to be joining an amazing team on the Forty Acres to help our students, faculty, staff, and community continue their health journey through our various RecSports programs and services. What a wonderful job I get to do every day!
If I can be of service to you in your health and fitness journey, please do not hesitate to reach out. I can be reached at andyl@austin.utexas.edu.
It is an honor and privilege to be here and I look forward to getting to work with and know many of you soon.
Hook ‘em,
Andy Lemons
Director of Programs

New Outdoor Fitness Equipment at Caven-Clark Field Thanks to Student Services Budget Committee funding, we've upgraded the outdoor fitness equipment at Caven-Clark Field. We invite you to try the new equipment next time you're looking to take your workout outdoors!
The new equipment features a Lat Pull Down, Chest Press, and THRIVE 450 Outdoor Gym. The Lat Pull Down and Chest Press are accessible, accommodating most mobility devices. The new equipment also offers variable training options (beginner, intermediate, and advanced users).
Aerial Yoga Series Series begin the week of March 20.
Take your yoga practice to new heights with our unique Aerial Yoga series at The TURF, located at the Recreational Sports Center. During this five-week series you will perform the similar poses you do on a yoga mat while using a silk hammock suspended from an aerial rig only 1-2 feet off the ground. Using the hammock helps you improve flexibility and builds strength while allowing you to do more challenging poses with less pressure on the joints. Throughout the course, you will progress through resting upright and inverted poses.
Registration is open to currently enrolled UT students and RecSports members.
