Sez used her platform on International Women’s Day to talk about an issue she’s passionate about through the #ReproductiveChoice campaign with MSI Asia Pacific, a sexual health NGO.

Injecting her usual comedic edge , while addressing her Hey Ted abortion-referenced lyrics, Sez encouraged her followers to support MSI’s efforts in providing contraception, safe abortion and post-abortion care across 37 countries.

It’s always great to see creators with large platforms using their influence to raise awareness for important issues.

Aunty Donna launched Dungeons & Dragons Honor Among Thieves locally in Australia with Paramount Pictures Australia, in another nod to the trios growing popularity both across internet and household culture.

The integration seems to have covered a bunch of very minor voiceovers, social promos and a feature at the screening in Sydney that Nick White was able to attend.

“I really didn't know what to expect with Dungeons and Dragons but it was probably the best movie I've seen this year so far. I was also surprised when Aunty Donna told us they were in the movie, (as corpses!) but this made so much sense after experiencing the humour of the film - it was hilarious”

Within a week of its debut, the Just For Girls (JFG) podcast has climbed to the top shelf in Australia, overtaking The Joe Rogen Experience, and is also charting in New Zealand’s top 3.

Though it’s a fair observation to call this industry oversaturated, JFGs’ instant success begs the question; is there still gaps in the podcast market?

Many female social creators from Instagram and TikTok have moved across to the podcast space in the past two years, however they tend to fall into a millennial demographic.

Sam and Izzy both boast large Gen Z followings on TikTok within the fashion and aspirational lifestyle sector. Content designed to capture the interest of girls aged between 15-22 appears to be underrepresented in podcasting.

Just as JFG attracted a huge audience for their first episode, we expect there is an opportunity for other Gen Z fashion/lifestyle creators to follow suit.

Hook, line, and sinker.

A "hook" is an opening message that grabs a user’s attention and retains their engagement.

Due to the fast-scrolling nature of TikTok, it can be difficult to keep users engaged for longer than a couple of seconds.

Hooks can be funny, emotive, or purely sensory.

In Neuralle’s case, we experiment with hooks in both TikTok ads and organic for our clients, and even for our own internal ads (see the gif attached)

We tested this upside-down (“pattern interrupt”) ad against a generic opener used by other agencies, and surprise surprise, our upside-down-anti-foot-fetish ad’s Click-Through-Rate was 3.8x higher than the generic ad.

So if you’re not already testing hooks in your content and advertising, now’s the time.
