We're building a new LGBTQ musical theatre canon, and we want you to build it with us! 🌈

Call for Songwriters

For our first Queering the Canon concert of 2023, we will be taking on the songs of Jerry Herman! And for the first time ever we will be in Chicago! ✨

Are you a Key who composes/writes songs? We need you! Though the concert will take place in Chicago this May, we know our Keys are all around the world and the invitation to submit extends to all Keys, regardless of location.

We want your authentically queer voices to write brand new material, inspired by canonical songs, creating a new canon for our future.

Applications for songwriters due March 13.

Over 20 Keys joined us in this session shared by Sarah DeGrave (she/her) to learn how to build a personal creative practice that works best for them. We're excited to make the recording available for any any Keys who were unable to join.
