Pastor's Note
Greetings Church Family,

I have a few recommendations for you this week, in light of the recently past Black History Month and the current Women's History month.

First, for Black History month I would really like to recommend the And Campaign's docuseries examining Scriptural orthodoxy and the history of the Black church. Here is a trailer and you can watch the whole thing (episodes are still being released), if you subscribe to their website (it's free). I would also heartily recommend their podcast Church Politics is one of my favorite Christian analysis on the news.

Second, for Women's History month I would recommend Dr. Nijay Gupta's upcoming book, Tell Her Story: How Women Taught, Led, and Ministered in the Early Church. Nijay was one of my seminary professors and I have very much appreciated the quality of his other books and biblical commentaries. Though I haven't read the book yet (it is released next week), I am looking forward to digging into it. Perhaps if there are enough people are interested we could do a book group.

Last, I want to apologize for not having our church's sermon podcast up over the last three weeks. There has been ongoing issues with livestreaming the service, which corrupts the audio, so to publish the podcast I have to rerecord the sermons and I have been having a difficulty finding a healthy rhythm to re-preach and produce the podcast. However, I will get there...

Don't forget that there is a baptism this Sunday-- So be prepared to celebrate a new sister in Christ.

Christ is King,

Pastor Criss

There will be parent sessions, youth sessions and together sessions. Fun and Food too! More information to come regarding schedule.

Purim Party: Sunday during Children's Church
This week we will have a Purim Party! The official Jewish holiday that celebrates Queen Esther's role in saving her people happened this week. Traditionally, Purim is a fun holiday where the story of Esther is told, gifts of food are given to friends as well as to those in need. Kids are welcome to wear a costume or silly hat as is the custom.

Need some kids' projects - you can access the Sunday Kids' Bulletins and other seasonal kid's projects here.  There are also other kids' materials available here.
